Abstract Ceramics

August 14th, 2010

As I continue to search for the perfect wedding gift, I came across some very interesting dinnerware. East Hampton, NY based Sydney Studios produces beautiful ceramic pieces that can stand well alone or complete an entire table setting. Some of the brightly glazed plates, and bowls are pictured below. I would love to see this design style in the form of wallpaper or baby bedding.

Hand Made Toys

June 22nd, 2010

Renate Müller has been creating limited quantity toys that are used for therapeutic purposes for handicapped children since the 1960’s. These toys became very successful in hospitals as they were used for hand-eye coordination, balance training, and sensory and orthopedic exercises. These toys are highly functional, so beautiful and unfortunately very expensive! I would love to see Renate Mullers estate put out a more accessible series.

david david – geometrics gone wild

June 25th, 2009

Lately I am loving the work of print designer David Saunders, a. k. a. David David. I have two of his scarves and would love to be able to pull off one of his wild technicolor jumpsuits. His patterns are vibrant and fun- eye candy for adults who still like to party. daviddavid3daviddavid2
You can order his scarves from his online shop or check his site for a list of stockists around the world.
