Over the past few months, I went back to my roots in graphic design and worked on a few Identity projects. I had a ton of fun working on the logo and site design for Dither Down Records. I was excited to design my first record sleeve and album art. They will soon be releasing tracks by Saadi, 33hz, and Trap.Avoid.
For audio post production studio, Kittens Post, I designed an 80's skate inspired logo.
I worked closely with my developer friend and past design assistant, Martha Hipley.
Check out graphic designer, Isabel Babcock. She graduated from the Portfolio Center in Atlanta, Georgia and is relocating to Brooklyn next week! Isabel has worked on a range of projects from an identity for a coffee company, a magazine spread, for Vital, and the annual report for Borion. She is about to finish up a project for a wine company and has had had a chair featured in Graphis for the 2009 New Talent Annual. You have to register and login to access that part of the site, but its certainly worth it.
I recently discovered these beautiful logos on the blog of designer Oliver Thomas.
Just put together this album art for my my friends mixtape. Download it here
I was surfing the web this morning when my browser homepageNOTCOT led me to media giant Joel Johnson's site where I discovered this clever eco-friendly font. SPRANQ, the Dutch design firm was inspired by a yummy holy local cheese called Maaslander, and punched tiny holes in the letter forms to create SPRANQ Eco Sans Regular. The font uses less ink when printed, making it environmentally friendly. you can download your free copy at here.
While we were at the ICFF, we had a chance to slip over to the National Stationery Show and have been meaning to share some of our favorites ever since. First up, we wanted to feature our Brooklyn neighbors at enormouschampion:
We love love love the cute and clean designs. The cassette tape card above is a clever "write your own message" card, and the herringbone pattern is actually made up of tiny birds. They have a shop on etsy where you can order some of their designs including the doctor's appointment card here and the birds pattern over here.
