We recommend consulting your installer to ensure enough paper is ordered for your project. You may also contact us directly via email or phone for an estimate. Please have your measurements ready in feet and inches, or meters. To get a general idea of how many rolls you need, use the formulas below.
It is very important to order the accurate number of rolls, as colors may vary between print runs and between different ground lots. Our screen-printed wallpapers are produced by hand in small runs and we cannot guarantee a 100% color match between each run and/or ground lot. If you are unsure of your calculations or of the quantity you need, it’s best to order an extra roll. If you do end up needing to order more wallpaper from a certain run and lot number, please put that information in your order notes box during checkout.
We strongly suggest consulting your installer to ensure enough paper is ordered for your project. You may also contact us directly via email or phone for an estimate. We recommend measuring with a steel tape measure. Make your measurements in feet and round off to the next half foot or foot. Measure the wall height from the floor to the ceiling, excluding any baseboards or moldings. Then measure the length of the wall without deducting for windows or doors (this will leave you extra wallpaper in case you may need it). Multiply the two measurements to find the surface area of the wall.
Single rolls of our paper are 15 feet long, but widths generally vary from 27 – 28 inches, with a few even less. 1 roll in theory covers about 30 square feet, but 1 roll will only cover 1 drop on a standard 8 foot wall (about 16 square feet). To find the number of rolls needed to cover your wall, multiply the height and the width of the wall by rounding up each length to the nearest foot — then divide by 30.
Example: For a wall that is 10 feet 6 inches high by 9 feet 4 inches long, round up and multiply 11 feet by 10 feet to get 110 square feet. Divide 110 by 30, and you will get 3.6. In this case, you will need 5 rolls.
If the number divides out to be .5 or above, you will need to add one more roll on to be safe. If you were to get 3.4, 4 rolls would be enough, but if you get 3.5 to 4.4, you will need 5 rolls.
As the number of rolls increases beyond 10, you should factor in at least 5 – 10% for install error, as well as to have matching wallpaper (from the same run) should panels become damaged over time and need replacing. Your installer is the best person to consult for ordering properly.

a. Measure the wall in meters, rounding up to the nearest 1/2 meter. For example, 4.3 meters should round to 4.5 meters.
b. Multiply the length of the wall by the height of the wall to get the area; do not subtract for windows, doors etc.
c. Divide by 2.75. For numbers X.01 – X.4, round up to next whole number. For example, if you get 4.3, you need 5 rolls. For numbers X.5 – X.99, round up and add one. For example, if you get 4.5, you need 6 rolls. This is to account for the vertical design match which is typically around 1 meter tall and the pattern must match side to side.
Example: Say the wall is 4.3 x 5.7 meters. Write down 4.5 x 6 = 27. Divide 27/2.75 = 9.8. For this you would need 11 rolls. (We will most likely ship 5 double rolls and 1 single roll.)

The highest quality craftsmanship has been employed in the production of the designs in this hand-printed portfolio, and our product is carefully inspected before shipment. Final inspection and approval, however, is the responsibility of the customer. Before opening the first roll, customer must verify that the pattern number, dye lot, and quantity are correct.
Customer is responsible for inspecting the merchandise for defects and other concerns or issues before installation and to assure the correct style and color was delivered. In the event a defect is found after installation has begun, stop immediately. Do not continue to install defective material. Under no circumstances should more than three strips be hung.
Labor claims will not be honored in any way. All of the wallcoverings in this collection are handmade; therefore, machine accuracy should not be expected. Each dye lot produced has its own unique inherent color and shading characteristics. Make note of the pattern number, run number, and background lot number for future reference should it be needed.
We recommend that a professional experienced in paper hanging install all wallpaper. We cannot be held responsible for improperly hung paper. Prior to starting your installation, verify if you are hanging our Standard or Durable Wallpaper and follow appropriate instructions below.
Please note that mylar papers can be scratched or dulled by wallpaper smoothing tools. To avoid damage, wrap tools in chamois, lubricate tools with glue, or smooth paper by hand.
Upon unwrapping your wallpaper, there may be a slight odor. The inks are cured inert solids and have all been tested and are safe per OSHA standards. The odor will quickly dissipate during or after hanging. We recommend ventilating the room well after hanging both to speed drying and to allow the odor to dissipate more quickly.
Please contact us for additional recommendations regarding specific hanging situations.
This product is shipped untrimmed with a .25 inch bleed (overlap) on each side that must be trimmed on the table. Professional installation is recommended. Please reference the individual product page for more specific information per style and email us with any questions: orders@aimeewilder.com.
Prior to hanging, wall must be clean, dry, and smooth without any old wallcovering, mildew, or grease marks. Special attention should be given to removing all old paste, spackling holes, sanding down bumps, and removing electrical coverings. If surface is not smooth, you will need to size the wall and/or apply wallpaper liner paper which may require primer in advance depending upon product used. Walls should be primed with a product that is compatible with the adhesive before hanging our Standard and Durable wallpapers for better installation and easier removal. Do not apply directly over bare sheet rock, latex or water-based paints without first priming the wall.
For our Standard wallpaper, we recommend a good quality, clear, pre-mixed vinyl adhesive, such as Roman Adhesive PRO-880. For our Durable wallpaper, we recommend using a clay based adhesive such as Roman 774 Strippable Clay or Roman 838 Heavy Duty Clear. Wash adhesive completely from surface of wallpaper immediately after each strip is hung. Any adhesive left on the face of the wallpaper may damage the surface-printed inks and cause them to flake. If a lining paper is used, hang only with a thin solution of the same ready-mixed adhesive. There is NO guarantee against mildewing, fading, or oxidizing.
For Standard Residential wallcovering, paste, “book” (fold pasted sides together), roll each sheet, and let stand for 3 – 5 minutes. This will keep the seams from opening up and drying out while the paper is relaxing. For our Durable wallcovering use the same "booking" process however let it relax much longer. Some installers prefer to put the pasted and booked material into a plastic bag with a wet sponge to assist in relaxing the wallpaper. Match paper on the wall at eye level with the use of a level. Clean with warm water and a sponge, taking care to remove all excess paste from the surface of paper and wall. Rinse thoroughly a second time with clean warm water.
Professional installation is required for commercial wallcoverings. This product is shipped with a bleed (overlap) that must be trimmed on the wall. Consult with your contractor or installer for more information.
This wallpaper ships on a continuous bolt or bolts labeled bolt 1, 2, 3 etc. For best results, cut and hang each panel in the order that they come off the bolt. Inspect the panels and make sure they appear to match up in consecutive order to provide the most consistent color from panel to panel. Work in one direction around the room, with the first and last panels from the bolt meeting in a corner, doorway, etc. - rather than on a flat wall.
Standard and Durable wallpaper: comes with .25 of an inch bleed on each side to be table trimmed as per instructions above.
Contract and Eco Luxe wallpaper: This product is shipped with a .5 inch bleed (overlap) that must be trimmed on the wall. Professional installation recommended.
